Speech therapy is a paramedical profession. The objectives of the speech therapist are the prevention, evaluation and treatment of communication, speech, language (oral and written), voice, swallowing and logic-mathematics disorders.<\/p>

It allows us to work with infants, children, teenagers, adults and the elderly.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Oral language:<\/strong><\/h4>

\u200b<\/span>Speech delay:<\/em><\/strong><\/span> A non-consistent and persistent articulatory defect that affects the organization of the spoken chain (speech) and is characterized by difficulties in combining phonemes to produce a word. This can make speech unintelligible.<\/p>

Language delay:<\/em><\/span><\/strong> linguistic development that does not correspond to known norms (time lag).<\/p>

Articulatory disorders: disorders of the orofacial functions that are characterized by the difficulty to correctly emit a determined phoneme or a group of phonemes.<\/p>

Dysphasia:<\/strong><\/em><\/span> a language development disorder that manifests itself as a deviant, slow and disharmonious structuring of language.<\/p>

Written language:<\/strong><\/h4>

\u200b<\/span>Dyslexia:<\/strong><\/em><\/span> specific developmental disorder of learning to read. Some dyslexias affect the reading of irregular words in the French language: these children read more \"with their ears\", sound by sound. Others affect the decoding of regular words: these children read more \"with their eyes\", by \"global recognition\". Some patients may have mixed dyslexia.<\/p>

Dysorthography:<\/strong><\/em><\/span> spelling disorder often associated with dyslexia. It can affect common spelling, grammatical spelling or both.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Logic-mathematics:<\/strong><\/h4>

Dyscalculia:<\/strong><\/em><\/span> persistent difficulties in activities involving mathematics.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Neurological disorders:<\/strong><\/h4>

Aphasia:<\/strong><\/em><\/span> Acquired language impairment constitutive to the focal lesion of the central nervous system and affecting the expression and\/or comprehension of oral and\/or written language.<\/p>

Dysarthria:<\/strong><\/em><\/span> a set of speech disorders (verbal articulation), linked to the impairment of the various motor pathways controlling the phonatory apparatus.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
