Maar, zoals elk systeem, kan het soms slecht functioneren of zelfs defect raken. Dit is wat er gebeurt bij chronische lage rugpijn\/cervicale pijn, fibromyalgie, algoneurodystrofie (nu CRPS genoemd), enz. Het zijn deze abnormale of pathologische pijnsituaties waarmee de algologie zich bezighoudt.<\/p><p>De fysiotherapeut speelt een sleutelrol bij de behandeling van chronische pijn, door<br \/>In het bijzonder voor spier- en skeletpijn (rachialgie, fibromyalgie...).<br \/>Hij beschikt over een reeks instrumenten die de pati\u00ebnt in staat stellen zijn pijn te temmen en beter<br \/>om mee te leven of zelfs van ze af te komen.<\/p><p>Naast manuele technieken (massage, mobilisatie...) gebruikt de fysiotherapeut zachte lichaamsoefeningen, ontspanning, onderwijs in pijnbeheersing, pacing... De fysiotherapeut heeft echter geen magische krachten, hij adviseert, traint en geeft hulpmiddelen aan de pati\u00ebnt, maar het is de pati\u00ebnt die verantwoordelijk is voor zijn behandeling en
